Job summary

VSC Fire & Security in Charlotte, NC seeks a Fire Alarm - Low Voltage Service Technician to install, service and test fire alarm and related systems. You will diagnose issues, follow plans, and ensure safety and NEC/NFPA compliance. Excellent customer service and field reliability are essential.

As a full-time role, you will work with a company vehicle, cell phone, and training opportunities, with compensation $35–$45 per hour based on experience and qualifications.

Qualifications

• Two to three years of experience servicing fire alarm, security, camera, or access control systems.
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions with strong attention to detail.
• Capable of maintaining field productivity, meeting service schedules.
• Able to read plans, documents, meters, and discern safety signage colors.
• Willing to pass background checks and have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Install, test, and repair security, camera, access control, suppression, and fire alarm systems.
• Troubleshoot system malfunctions and false alarms.
• Program multiple system types and test for proper operation.
• Consult with client on issues and provide repair recommendations.
• Use blueprints to determine proper installations based on building layout.
• Run wiring, install hardware, and connect electrical wiring.
• Inspect systems and batteries, adjust and repair as required.
• Ensure NEC and NFPA compliance and educate end users on operation.
• Be on call as required.
