VSC Fire & Security in Austin, TX is hiring a Fire Alarm - Low Voltage Service Technician. You will install, test, and maintain fire alarm, security, and related systems, troubleshoot issues, and provide client support on site and remotely.

Qualifications

• Two to three years of experience in servicing fire alarm, security systems, camera systems, or access control.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with attention to detail and communication skills.
• Reliable transportation and valid Texas driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Desirable NICET certification (optional) in FAS or ITFAS, or similar certifications.

Responsibilities

• Installs, tests, and repairs fire alarm, security, camera, and access control systems.
• Troubleshoots system malfunctions and false alarms.
• Programs multiple system types and tests for proper operation.
• Consults with clients on issues and provides repair recommendations.
• Reads blueprints or plans to determine installation/service needs.
• Runs wiring, installs hardware, and connects electrical wiring.
• Inspects systems, batteries, and wiring; makes adjustments and repairs.
• Ensures systems comply with NEC and NFPA fire codes.
• Explains system function to end users.
• Be on call as required and support remote troubleshooting.
