Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. in Memphis, TN is seeking an Inspector to perform routine inspections, testing and maintenance on Electrical, Sprinkler or Suppression life safety product lines.

You will work with low voltage wiring and related devices, complete service acknowledgements, and follow a strict inspection schedule. You will also provide training to junior inspectors and travel as needed, ensuring timely completion of inspections and adherence to safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Installation or Service Experience in testing and inspecting Fire Alarm Equipment.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs.
• Able to climb ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet.
• Willing to travel out of town including overnight lodging.
• Strong customer service and safety adherence.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and driving record.
• Able to obtain and retain licenses required by codes.
• Moderate level of experience with computer software and technology.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and service Electrical, Sprinkler or Suppression life safety product lines.
• Work with low voltage wiring and related devices for operation of equipment.
• Complete Service Acknowledgements with proper coding via laptop or paper.
• Maintain a structured inspection schedule and archive documents.
• Make minor repairs and programming changes to inspected systems.
• Provide technical training to less senior inspectors and trainees.
• Complete assigned inspections on time.
