Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking Inspectors to perform routine inspections, testing, service and preventive maintenance on electrical, sprinkler or suppression life-safety product lines and related systems.

You will work with low voltage wiring, complete service documentation, and maintain structured inspection schedules. The role requires 2+ years of installation or service experience with fire alarm equipment, physical ability to lift up to 70 lbs, and willingness to travel including

Qualifications

• 2+ years of installation or service experience in testing and inspecting fire alarm equipment.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Capable of physical labor, carrying/moving equipment up to 50–70 lbs.
• Able to work in ladders, scaffolding, and high lifts up to 40 feet.
• Willing to travel out of town, including overnight lodging.
• Demonstrate strong customer service and safety discipline.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and meet company driving standards.
• Moderate computer skills and technology use.

Responsibilities

• Inspect electrical, sprinkler, or suppression life-safety product lines and similar products.
• Work with low voltage wiring and associated devices.
• Complete service acknowledgments with proper coding via laptops or paper.
• Follow and maintain a structured inspection schedule.
• Input, retrieve, and archive inspection docs via mobile devices.
• Provide training to assistants and trainees.
• Complete inspections on time and perform other duties as assigned.
