Qualifications

• Must have experience within fire alarm system designing or estimating.
• CFPS certification is a plus.
• NICET certifications in fire alarm systems or related field preferred.
• Familiarity with and ability to read, interpret, and apply NFPA Code.
• Strong math skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review project plans, specs, and drawings to assess the scope of fire alarm installations or modifications.
• Calculate material, labor, and equipment costs for fire alarm projects.
• Prepare and present detailed proposals, including breakdowns of labor, materials, and timeline estimates.
• Identify required components, panels, devices, wires, and other materials to ensure compliance with project specs and codes.
• Ensure designs and estimates adhere to NFPA standards, local building codes, and fire safety regulations.
• Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to obtain pricing for materials and equipment.
• Communicate with clients and contractors to clarify project requirements and address questions.
• Produce timely and accurate estimates according to fixed bid dates/schedules.
• Apply for permits and submittals.
• Produce status reports and participate in planning meetings.
• Provide timely and accurate entries into operating systems.
• Perform other duties as required or assigned.
