Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is seeking an experienced estimator/designer in Washington state to develop bid layouts, perform material takeoffs, and prepare quotes for fire alarm and suppression systems.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of relevant experience, NFPA familiarity, strong math skills, and MS Office proficiency. Occasional travel and a valid driver's license may be required. Competitive pay and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience designing or estimating fire alarm systems.
• Familiarity with NFPA Code and ability to interpret specs.
• Ability to create alarm and suppression layouts and perform material take-offs.
• Strong math and analytical skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Willingness to travel overnight occasionally.
• Proficient in MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Perform bid layouts and material takeoffs.
• Obtain vendor pricing and write quotes.
• Read, interpret, and apply NFPA code requirements.
• Produce timely estimates according to fixed bid dates.
• Maintain entries in operating systems and project plans.
