Johnson Controls is seeking a Fire Alarm Construction Manager to lead field installation projects for fire alarm systems across commercial properties. This hands-on role emphasizes safety, schedule, and budget control, with daily coordination of technicians, suppliers, and project partners.

The ideal candidate has 5–10 years in fire alarm construction, strong project management and estimating skills, and relevant certifications. A company vehicle and comprehensive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of management experience in fire alarm installation.
• Project management experience.
• Estimating experience.
• Fire Alarm, Access Controls, and CCTV certifications.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Extensive field presence, 70–80% on-site visits.
• Experience with Windows platforms.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of construction installation projects for fire alarm systems.
• Coach and mentor technicians, apprentices, and other direct reports.
• Order materials and equipment needed to support project execution.
• Monitor project financials, budgets, and hours assigned to each job.
• Maintain installer schedules and coordinate labor planning with operations.
• Provide accurate project status updates during WIP meetings.
• Attend construction meetings and interface with end-users, architects, and general contractors.
• Conduct regular job site safety walkthroughs, EHS evaluations, and accident investigations.
• Support interviewing and evaluation of employees and apprentices as needed.
