Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. seeks a Fire Construction Manager to oversee the daily management of fire alarm installation projects across commercial, industrial, education, healthcare and government environments.

You will coach technicians, manage scheduling and material planning, monitor performance, and ensure safety and quality on site. Strong project management and estimating skills, plus experience with Excel, are required.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of management experience in fire alarm installation, within the commercial industry.
• Fire alarm, access controls, and CCTV certifications.
• Project management experience and estimating experience.
• Proficiency with Excel and Microsoft products.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage the daily operations of construction installation projects for fire alarm systems.
• Coach and mentor technicians and apprentices to support quality execution and team development.
• Order materials and equipment and ensure job readiness before site work begins.
• Monitor project financials, track labor hours, and provide accurate status updates during meetings.
• Maintain installer schedules and coordinate with Operations to support project delivery.
• Attend construction meetings and communicate effectively with end-users, architects, and general contractors.
• Conduct jobsite safety walkthroughs and EHS evaluations as needed.
• Set performance expectations and review progress with direct reports.
