Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Fire Alarm Construction Manager to lead field-based installation projects, primarily on customer sites, ensuring safety, schedule, and budget alignment. You will guide crews, manage materials, and drive performance in fast-paced commercial environments.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, collaboration with operations and partners, and a strong emphasis on safety and quality in every decision.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of management experience in fire alarm installation within the commercial industry.
• Project management experience.
• Estimating experience.
• Fire Alarm, Access Controls, and CCTV certifications.
• Experience with Excel and other Microsoft products.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Proficiency with personal computers, including Windows 7/XP/NT/2000.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of construction installation projects for fire alarm systems.
• Coach and mentor technicians, apprentices, and other direct reports.
• Order materials and equipment needed to support project execution.
• Monitor project financials, budgets, and hours assigned to each job.
• Maintain installer schedules and coordinate labor planning with operations.
• Provide accurate project status updates during WIP meetings.
• Attend construction meetings and interface with end-users, architects, and general contractors.
• Conduct regular job site safety walkthroughs, EHS evaluations, and accident investigations.
• Support interviewing and evaluation of employees and apprentices as needed.
