Job summary

Wachter is seeking a Fire Alarm/Intrusion/Access Control Service Technician to support our customers at retail locations nationwide. The role requires self-motivation, reliability, and the ability to work independently on service and installation projects.

You will travel 20-30% and participate in a mandatory one-week orientation in Lowell, Arkansas before a company vehicle is issued. Competitive pay ($30-$45/hr) and a comprehensive benefits package accompany long-term employment with Wachter.

Qualifications

• Field installation experience in security environments: Fire Alarm /Intrusion / Access Control
• NICET certification preferred by employer
• Physical Security and/or Life Safety licenses required
• Knowledge of NFPA standards (NFPA 70/72)
• Willingness to travel and work day shifts with some nights
• Valid driver’s license with clean record and no DUI/DWI in last 3 years

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, and repair cabling systems and equipment for IP Video, Access Control, Intrusion, and LAN/WAN infrastructure
• Run low voltage cabling in commercial buildings and drill concrete walls as needed
• Ensure complete wiring, terminations, and equipment installs with proper compliance
• Program fire alarm control panels under guidance of plans and layouts
• Test newly installed systems and verify compliance with codes and contractual requirements
• Collaborate with Installation Team Lead/Project Manager on schedules and timely delivery of equipment
• Provide on-site and remote technical escalation support and maintain customer relationships
