Qualifications

• 4+ years working experience in a combination of law firms and fintech companies, ideally advising on money transmission, payments, and money movement.

Responsibilities

• Serve as embedded legal partner to engineering, design, and product teams building bill pay and payments features, advising in real time as products are designed and built.
• Provide pragmatic, actionable advice on money transmission requirements and best practices for existing and new bill pay and payments products.
• Advise on regulatory implications of product architecture, payment flows, fund movement, and feature design, helping teams make sound build-versus-defer decisions.
• Advise cross-functional partners on critical money transmission and payments regulatory questions.
• Track and analyze US state and federal money transmission laws, along with relevant international payments regulations, and help Brex stay ahead of regulatory change affecting bill pay.
• Advise on product and marketing collateral, customer communications, and disclosures for bill pay and money movement products.
• Draft, update, and maintain customer agreements, terms, and disclosures for bill pay and money movement products.
• Support licensing, bank partner, and payments-network requirements as they relate to product launches.
