Job summary

Brex is seeking a highly skilled legal professional to join our team in Seattle, focusing on money transmission and fintech regulatory matters. You will work closely with engineering, design, and product to translate regulatory requirements into practical product decisions while enabling rapid delivery.

You will advise on product architecture, provide risk guidance, and help Brex stay ahead of regulatory change affecting bill pay and payments.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years working experience in law firms and fintech companies, advising on money transmission and payments.
  • Experience with money movement regulations.
  • Experience in a fintech regulatory environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as embedded legal partner to engineering, design, and product teams for bill pay and payments features.
  • Provide pragmatic guidance on money transmission requirements and best practices.
  • Advise on regulatory implications of product architecture, payment flows, and feature design.
  • Advise cross‑functional partners on money transmission and payments regulatory questions.
  • Track US state and federal money transmission laws and international regulations impacting bill pay.
  • Contribute to product marketing collateral, customer communications, and disclosures.
  • Draft, update, and maintain customer agreements and disclosures for bill pay and money movement.
  • Support licensing, bank partners, and payments-network requirements for product launches.
