Brex, the intelligent finance platform, seeks a Senior Legal Counsel to help build and scale Brex's spend management software. You will translate complex regulatory and commercial requirements into practical product decisions and partner with privacy, security, compliance, marketing, sales, and partnerships.

This role is based in Seattle, in a hybrid environment. The role requires a law degree, 4+ years in law firms and fintech, and experience with credit, lending, and card laws.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in law firms and technology/fintech companies.
• Familiar with U.S. and international credit, lending, and card laws including TILA/Reg Z.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ownership mentality and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Law degree and bar admission in at least one jurisdiction.
• Willingness to collaborate across teams ('One Brex').

Responsabilités

• Serve as embedded legal partner to engineering, product, and design teams building spend management software—advising in real time as features are designed and built.
• Provide pragmatic, actionable advice on requirements and best practices for existing and new spend management software features.
• Advise on the regulatory and commercial implications of product architecture, data flows, automation and AI features, integrations, and feature design, helping teams make sound build-versus-defer decisions.
• Advise a variety of cross-functional partners on critical credit, lending, and card network regulatory questions.
• Advise a variety of cross-functional partners on critical software, data privacy, and product regulatory questions.
• Advise on product and marketing collateral, customer communications, and disclosures for spend management software products.
• Draft, update, and maintain customer agreements, terms, disclosures, and feature-level terms for spend management software.
• Support data handling, integration, and partner arrangements as they relate to product launches.
