Job summary

Farmers & Merchants Bank of Long Beach is seeking a Director of Software Engineering to lead the design, development, and delivery of innovative digital banking products. The role reports to the CIO and owns the engineering roadmap, scale, and security across customer-facing software.

You will oversee the full SDLC, drive technical strategy, and mentor a diverse team of engineers and data professionals to deliver high-quality, scalable banking software while aligning with the bank's technology

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressively responsible software engineering experience.
• At least 5 years in a senior leadership role managing cross-functional technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and own the engineering roadmap aligned with CIO objectives.
• Lead and scale engineering managers, software developers, and data engineers.
• Oversee end-to-end software delivery including QA and security.
• Guide architecture decisions for cloud-native microservices.
• Drive automation through RPA and intelligent workflow solutions.
