Job summary

FM Industries in Fremont, CA is seeking a Finisher 3 to deburr, sand and clean parts, including new and complex components, with opportunities to assist in developing new finishing processes across aluminum, steel, plastic and copper.

You will read blueprints, tooling instructions and charts for specifications, operate a variety of power finishing tools, count and label parts, and handle non-conformance records under supervision. Multiple shifts available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 5–7 years finishing experience preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of abrasive progression to achieve specific surface finishes.

Responsibilities

• Deburr, sand and clean parts with little direction from Lead or Supervisor.
• Read blueprints, tooling instructions, and standard charts for specifications.
• Operate pneumatic or electric power finishing tools such as orbital sander, DA sander, flappers and die grinders.

Days: Mon-Fri 6:00am to 2:30pm; Swing: Mon-Fri 2:00pm to 10:30pm; Weekends: Fri-Sun 8am to 8pm

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

As a Finisher 3, you will deburr, sand and clean parts on the most complex proven, new parts as well as assist in the development of new processes on a various material such as aluminum, steel, plastic, and copper with little or no direction from area Lead or Supervisor.

• Responsible for utilizing shop paper procedure including updates, signatures and stamps, counting quantities, labeling and non-conformance related activities
• Read blueprints, tooling instructions, and standard charts for specifications
• Operate a variety of pneumatic or electric power finishing tools such but not limited to orbital sander, DA sander, flappers and die grinders.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Previous finishing experience of five to seven years preferred
• Extensive knowledge of abrasive(s) progression required to achieve specific surface finishes
