Job summary

FM Industries in Livermore, CA is seeking a Hardware Assembler 2 to kit helicoids and assemble components on multiple shifts. You'll work with aluminum, steel, plastic and copper, following blueprints and standard work instructions.

This role emphasizes hands-on finishing, polishing sealing surfaces, and clear reporting of material shortages to Supervisors. A high school diploma or GED with 3–5 years of related experience is expected, with GD&T knowledge a plus.

• Enrolled in vocational education for machine technology or blueprint reading, GD&T preferred.

• Kit helicoids for jobs and install helicoids.
• Cut gaskets or masking, dowel pins and keener’s on repeat or proven parts with medium to high complexity across materials.
• Polish sealing surface lay patterns on post anodize parts.

Days: Mon-Fri 6:00am to 2:30pm; Swing: Mon-Fri 2:00pm to 10:30pm; Weekends: Fri-Sun 8am to 8pm

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

As a Hardware Assembler 2 you will kit helicoids for jobs, install helicoids, cut gaskets or masking, dowel pins and keener’s on repeat or proven parts with medium to high complexity on a various materials such as aluminum, steel, plastic and copper with minimal direction from area Lead or Supervisor. Trained to polish sealing surface lay patterns on variety of post anodize parts.

• Responsible for utilizing shop paper procedure including updates, signatures and stamps, counting quantities, labeling and non-conformance related activities
• Operate a variety of pneumatic or electric power finishing tools such but not limited to orbital sander, DA sander, flappers and die grinders.
• Report all material shortages to Production Supervisor
• Ensure an accurate router accompanies all work orders

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Three to five years of previous finishing or related experience preferred
• Enrolled in vocational education for machine technology or practical aspects of blueprint reading, GD&T preferred.
