Job summary

FM Industries in Fremont, CA is hiring a Hardware Assembler 2 to perform helicoil work, gasket cutting, and dowel pin installation with moderate to high complexity. You will read blueprints, follow shop routers, and polish sealing surfaces on post anodize parts under guidance from the area Lead.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or technical school equivalent.
• 3-5 years' related experience preferred.
• Enrolled in vocational education for machine technology or blueprint reading, GD&T preferred.
• Must be reliable with excellent attendance.

Responsibilities

• Kit helicoils for jobs, install helicoils, cut gaskets or masking, dowel pins and keencerts on parts with direction from Lead or Supervisor.
• Polish sealing surface lay patterns on post anodize parts as trained.
• Follow shop procedures, update signatures and stamps, count quantities, label, and handle non-conformances.
• Ensure an accurate router accompanies all work orders.
• Assist Lead as needed.
• Operate pneumatic or electric finishing tools such as orbital sander, DA sander, flappers and die grinders.
• Read blueprints, tooling instructions, and standard charts for specifications and surfaces.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Responsible for kitting helicoils for jobs, installing helicoils, cutting gaskets or masking, dowel pins and keencerts on repeat or proven parts with moderate to high complexity on various materials such as aluminum, steel, plastic and copper with minimal direction from area Lead or Supervisor. Trained to polish sealing surface lay patterns on a variety of post anodize parts.

• Responsible for utilizing shop paper procedures including updates, signatures and stamps, counting quantities, labeling and non-conformance related activities.
• Ensure an accurate router accompanies all work orders.
• Assist Lead person as needed.
• Operate a variety of pneumatic or electric power finishing tools such but not limited to orbital sander, DA sander, flappers and die grinders.
• Read blueprints, tooling instructions, and standard charts for specifications.
• Follow the blueprint or instructions to achieve required surface finishes such as lay patterns and sealing surfaces.
• Install helicoils and dowel pins into parks and subassemblies using blueprints and shop routers to determine size, quantity, and location.
