Job summary

Max Downtown in Hartford, CT is seeking a Server with open availability to join our fast-paced, fine-dining team. You will take orders, deliver meals, and provide wine recommendations in a vibrant dining room.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of server experience in a fine-dining setting, knowledge of wines, spirits, and cocktails, and a ability to handle dietary requests with professionalism. Competitive pay and solid benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• At least 1–2 years of recent experience as a Server in a fine-dining establishment.
• Knowledge of wines, spirits, and cocktails is required.
• Ability to handle special requests and dietary restrictions with professionalism and grace.
• Experience following steps of service and providing attentive, knowledgeable service.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional service, ensuring guests feel welcomed, valued, and well-attended to from start to finish
• Take accurate food and drink orders and communicate them clearly to the kitchen and bar
• Deliver food and drinks to guests, ensuring all dishes meet Max Downtown’s high standards for presentation and temperature
• Offer wine and beverage recommendations, sharing knowledge about the menu, wines, and craft cocktails
• Address guest inquiries and handle requests with professionalism and grace
• Ensure that all guest orders are accurate, including noting allergies or dietary restrictions
• Follow steps of service to ensure smooth and efficient dining experiences
• Work closely with other team members to maintain a high level of service during busy periods
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional environment in the dining area
