Job summary

Max Fish in Glastonbury, CT is seeking a dynamic Server with open availability to join our upscale-casual seafood concept. You should bring 1–2 years of server experience, strong wine knowledge, and a passion for delivering exceptional hospitality.

The position offers an hourly wage with opportunities for growth in a vibrant team. Responsibilities include taking accurate orders, guiding wine pairings, maintaining a polished dining room, and delivering memorable guest experiences.

Qualifications

• At least 1–2 years of recent server experience in a fine dining or upscale-casual restaurant.
• Proven knowledge of wine, spirits, and seafood menu offerings.
• Experience with fine-dining service standards, including handling special requests, dietary restrictions, and allergens.
• Experience with managing high-volume, fast-paced service while maintaining a high level of guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional service, ensuring guests feel welcome and well-attended from start to finish.
• Take accurate food and beverage orders and communicate them clearly to the kitchen and bar.
• Communicate special requests, allergies, or dietary restrictions to the kitchen.
• Deliver food and drinks to guests meeting high standards of presentation and quality.
• Offer wine and beverage recommendations and assist with pairing suggestions.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional dining area throughout the shift.
• Work efficiently with team members to ensure smooth and timely service.
• Anticipate guest needs and provide proactive service to enhance their dining experience.
• Follow all steps of service and strive for excellence in guest experience.
