The Post Oak Hotel at Uptown Houston is seeking a Banquet Attendant to join the Forbes Five-Star property. You will set banquet spaces, assist guests, and ensure flawless service across events while maintaining safety and efficiency in a luxury environment.

The role requires physical stamina, independence, and the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays. The position offers comprehensive benefits, dining and discount perks, and opportunities for advancement within a premier hotel.

Qualifications

• Previous hotel experience, luxury or Forbes experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Flexible scheduling including nights, weekends and holidays required.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for long periods.
• Familiarity with banquet room setups and safety standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set banquet tables, chairs, dance floors and staging per event orders.
• Provide prompt, professional service during functions and ensure guest safety in setup and service.
• Maintain knowledge of banquet rooms, storage areas, and back-of-house operations for efficient use.
• Assist guests, meeting planners, and clients with changes and movements during events.
• Be aware of all hotel functions during shift and address guest requests promptly.
• Handle equipment carefully to avoid accidents or damage, and reset banquet rooms for the next day.

Overview

The Post Oak Hotel is seeking a Banquet Attendant to join the only Forbes Five-Star Hotel in Texas. We hire passionate and professional colleagues who genuinely delight our guests through curated and authentic experiences.

The Banquet Attendant will be responsible for set-up of banquet function as prescribed by the banquet event orders.

Responsibilities

• Set tables, chairs, dance floors and staging according to the instructions from the Captain, Banquet Manager or the Banquet Director
• Provide prompt and professional service during banquet functions. Ensures that guest safety is of paramount consideration in the set-up of the room and in the arrangement and performance of all banquet set up needs
• Mantains comprehensive knowledge of banquet rooms, storage areas, and back of the house operations ensuring efficient utilization and organization of all spaces.
• Assist guests, clients and meeting planners with changes and movements
• Knowledagble of all functions and activities in the Hotel during the shift
• Attend to guest complaints and requests promptly and refers them to the immediate Supervisor
• Handle equipment with care to avoid accidents, breakage’s and damage
• Reset all of the Banquet rooms for the following day

Qualifications

• 2 years previous hotel experience, luxury or Forbes experience preferred
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends and holidays is required
• Physical demands: Ability to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis. Prolonged extended periods of standing. Pushing and pulling heavy carts.
