Job summary

The Heritage Steakhouse LLC in Santee, CA is seeking a Food Runner to bridge the culinary team and guests in a high-end dining setting. This part-time role focuses on precise plating checks, careful delivery, and strong guest communication to uphold impeccable service.

You’ll work closely with Expeditor and Servers to maintain a smooth tempo during peak hours, while staying aware of ingredients and allergens to answer guest questions confidently. Prior full-service experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years in a full-service restaurant
• Clear, courteous communication with guests and internal teams

Responsibilities

• Final quality check on each plate for presentation and garnishing
• Deliver dishes with the open-hand technique to avoid interrupting the dining experience

Job Summary:

At the Heritage, the journey of a dish doesn’t end at the pass—it begins there. We are seeking a high-energy, detail-oriented food runner to be the vital link between our culinary team and our guests. In fine dining, the runner is more than a delivery person; you are the final checkpoint for excellence.

What You’ll Do:

• The Final Polish: Conduct a final quality check on every plate, ensuring garnishes and presentation meet our executive chef’s exacting standards.
• Precision Delivery: Use the "open hand" technique to place dishes without interrupting the guest’s experience.
• Expert Knowledge: Maintain a deep understanding of ingredients and allergens to confidently answer guest questions upon delivery.
• The Orchestrator: Work in lockstep with the Expeditor and Servers to maintain a flawless tempo during peak service hours.
