Job summary

Oak View Group partners with Seattle Aquarium to deliver high-quality banquet service for events. Banquet Servers provide professional, fine-dining level service, set up spaces, and ensure guests are welcomed and attended to. The role emphasizes hospitality, accuracy, and teamwork at busy events.

The position is part-time with flexible hours including nights and weekends. Compensation is $22–$25 per hour, tip eligible, with 401(k) options and a closing date noted as December 31, 2026.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED strongly preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• Minimum 1 year of work experience in events, banquets, or restaurants preferred.
• Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects often (at least 8 entrees per tray).
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and select holidays.
• Knowledge of basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
• Must be punctual with consistent attendance.
• Must be able to respond to simple complaints or inquiries from customers.

Responsibilities

• Reads and understands banquet event orders.
• Provides fine-dining-level food and beverage service to guests for all events, consistent with standards of service.
• Initiates and maintains friendly and professional contact with guests, ensuring that all needs are anticipated and met.
• Setup and maintain both food and beverage stations in various locations throughout the building consistent with standards of service.
• Maintain an inventory for both food and beverage stations.
• Maintain all event areas and front-of-house staging areas in a tidy and organized manner.
• Participate in both the setup and cleanup of food and beverage service items.
• Works independently during slower times.
• Perform safe work by helping to create a safe and clean work environment.
• Has a high level of social contact and deals often with patrons.
• Ensures that work is accurate and complete.
• Maintains a customer-focused, positive, and professional attitude.
