Job summary

Join M.S. Rau Aspen as an Aspen Gallery Operations Technician to support safe handling, installation, packing, and presentation of fine art and high‑value objects. This on‑site role collaborates with our New Orleans operations team, requiring initiative and independent work throughout the Aspen site.

You will assist with lighting, minor maintenance, and on‑site facility needs while coordinating with the Director of Operations and approved vendors to ensure a pristine gallery environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience handling, packing, transporting, or installing fine art, antiques, high‑value merchandise, or similarly fragile objects.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools, ladders, installation hardware, and material‑handling equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail to protect valuable property.

Responsibilities

• Safely handle, move, install, deinstall, pack, transport, and unload fine art, antiques, furniture, and other valuables.
• Install artwork using proper hardware and techniques.
• Prepare artwork for inventory and for shipment.
• Support deliveries, installations, and gallery events, and manage lighting upkeep.
• Maintain lighting and perform minor maintenance tasks.
• Coordinate with on‑site leadership and vendors for routine needs.
