Overview

Maimonides has a great opportunity for a detail-oriented Financial Services Clerk for our Hematology/Oncology department to handle medical billing, coding, and accounts receivable functions.


Responsibilities

  • Obtain and verify patient insurance information
  • Assign ICD9 and CPT codes for medical procedures and services
  • Post charges and payments using IDX System
  • Process patient co-pays and prepare deposit sheets
  • Obtain insurance authorizations and referrals
  • Follow up on insurance claims, denials, and payments
  • Assist with provider credentialing processes
  • Maintain accurate patient billing records
  • Respond to billing inquiries from patients and insurance companies
  • Provide medical record documentation for audits
  • Perform clerical duties including filing and appointment scheduling

Qualifications

We require:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Billing program completion with ICD9 and CPT coding knowledge
  • 1+ year of billing and accounts receivable experience
  • Medical terminology knowledge
  • Strong communication and computer skills (45 wpm typing speed)

We prefer:

  • Oncology billing experience
  • IDX System experience

Training Schedule (First 2 Months): Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
Post-Training Schedule: Once training is completed, choose from the following shifts:

7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
9:30 AM – 5:30 PM
10:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Rotating Weekend Shifts: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM.


Pay Range

USD $27.79 - USD $28.68 /Hr.
