About the Role:

This role plays a vital role on the TailorMed Complete team, driving better financial outcomes for patients by leveraging our innovative platform to connect them with a broad range of financial assistance options—from federal and state programs to disease-specific funds and local community resources.

This hybrid role combines hands-on patient financial navigation with day-to-day team leadership. As a lead, you’ll guide a small team to ensure high-quality, consistent, and efficient service, while also supporting training efforts, providing feedback, and optimizing workflows. You’ll be instrumental in meeting performance goals and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and patient-first excellence.

In addition to internal leadership, this role includes direct communication with customer leadership, serving as a trusted representative of TailorMed and reinforcing our commitment to outstanding partnership and service delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Be the face of TailorMed to our customers and patients - living, demonstrating, and growing our company values
  • Providing direction and guidance to team members
  • Assists with training and development of team members
  • Monitors team performance and target KPIs
  • Effectively communicates goals, expectations, and provides feedback
  • Identifies areas of improvement in workflow and process
  • Conduct virtual consultations with patients and gather information to support applications
  • Complete applications on patients’ behalf and track status until a determination is made, maintaining communication with the patient
  • Collaborate with providers to ensure the smooth running of the service
  • Escalate issues internally and with the client if needed, to ensure swift resolution
  • Act as a super-user for the TailorMed platform, identifying enhancements to improve user experience and patient outcomes
  • Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
  • Meet productivity and quality standards
  • Lead with compassion and act with confidence
Requirements
  • 2-5 years’ experience in a financial navigator/financial advocate role
  • Past or current leadership experience
  • Knowledge of healthcare industry
  • Knowledge of insurance, including Medicare/Medicaid and commercial insurance
  • Experience submitting claims to copay/manufacturer programs
  • Experience delivering client-focused solutions to customer needs
  • Knowledge of health insurance rules/regulations
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD 10, and HCPC codes
  • Positive attitude, empathy, and high energy
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent career experience
  • Superb written and communication skills
  • High level of initiative and ability to work independently
  • Ability to effectively and empathetically communicate with newly diagnosed applicants
  • Ability to work in a high volume caseload environment and deal effectively with rapidly changing priorities
  • Desire to be involved in building this function and to be a valued member of a growing team
