Job summary

Penn State Health in Hershey, PA is seeking a Financial Counselor - Patient Access to handle patient account inquiries and proactively reduce financial risk to the patient and facility. This full-time role operates on a day shift in Revenue Cycle, with 8:00am–4:30pm hours.

Ideal candidates have an associate degree or equivalent, and at least one year of customer service experience with knowledge of third-party payer billing.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Responsible for interacting with customers relative to all patient account issues while maintaining excellent public relations skills with the primary emphasis being early, proactive intervention to reduce financial risk to the patient and the facility.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

• Associate's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum one (1) year of additional experience in a customer service setting and knowledgeable of third party payer billing and follow-up.
