Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking an Outpatient Financial Counselor to assist patients in applying for coverage and navigating financial assistance programs. You will screen for eligibility, educate patients on options, and work toward securing insurance through MassHealth, Out of State Medicaid, Health Safety Net, or Charity Care.

As CAC-certified staff, you will initiate applications, renewals, and maintain accurate patient data while supporting access to care and hospital revenue integrity in

Qualifications

• High School diploma with 3-5 years of strong customer service experience in healthcare or human services.
• Bachelor's degree strongly preferred; bilingual and healthcare experience preferred.
• Must complete MassHealth’s curriculum for CAC and obtain CAC certification within 45 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Help patients access healthcare coverage and secure payors; reduce uncompensated care.
• Educate patients about eligibility requirements and enrollment options.
• Initiate new applications and assist with renewals; update demographics and documentation.
