Spire Orthopedic Partners is a growing national MSO that supports orthopedic practices with administrative operations, headquartered in Stamford, CT. The Revenue Cycle Specialist will determine patient financial responsibility and educate patients before procedures, while verifying insurance eligibility and collecting balances.

The role requires healthcare financial services experience, strong insurance knowledge, and proficient use of EHR and MS Office.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in healthcare financial services and/or revenue cycle preferred.
• Strong knowledge of insurance identification and processes, billing procedures, and healthcare regulations.
• Strong communication skills; bilingual is a plus.
• Proficiency with electronic health record systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and determine the patient’s financial responsibility for services rendered.
• Collect the patient’s responsibilities prior to scheduled procedures.
• Verify insurance eligibility prior to services rendered.
• Maintain documentation of all patient interactions in compliance with organizational standards.
• Collaborate with Practices and RC Leadership; support prior authorizations with Surgical Coordinators.
• Address Revenue Cycle correspondences (email, faxes, written, internal messages).
• Other duties as assigned.

Headquartered in Stamford, Connecticut, the Spire network spans the Northeast with more than 165 physicians, 1,800 employees, 285 other clinical providers and 40 locations in New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island and Massachusetts.What you’ll do:Serves as a primary point of contact to investigate and determine the patient’s financial responsibility for services rendered and collect the patient’s responsibilities prior to scheduled procedures.Responsibilities/Duties:Confirms patient’s benefits to determine any patient responsibility prior to procedure, i.e., deductibles, co-insurance and copays.
