Job summary

Spire Orthopedic Partners, based in Stamford, CT, is seeking a Revenue Cycle Specialist to manage patient financial responsibility before procedures and educate patients on their obligations.

You will verify insurance eligibility, post patient responsibilities, and maintain detailed documentation while collaborating with practices and leadership to optimize revenue cycles in a MSO network.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Healthcare financial services or revenue cycle experience preferred.
• Knowledge of insurance identification, billing procedures, and healthcare regulations.
• Strong communication skills; bilingual is a plus.
• Proficiency with electronic health record systems and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Determine patient’s financial responsibility prior to scheduled procedures.
• Outbound calls to educate patients on financial responsibilities.
• Verify insurance eligibility prior to services.
• Attempt to collect and post patient responsibility prior to procedure.
• Maintain documentation of all patient interactions per standards.
• Maintain collection logs by practice for reconciliation.
• Collaborate with Practices and RC Leadership.
• Collaborate with Surgical Coordinators to support prior authorizations.
• Address Revenue Cycle correspondences (email, faxes, etc.).
• Other duties as assigned.

What you’ll do

Serves as a primary point of contact to investigate and determine the patient’s financial responsibility for services rendered and collect the patient’s responsibilities prior to scheduled procedures.

Responsibilities/Duties

• Confirms patient’s benefits to determine any patient responsibility prior to procedure, i.e., deductibles, co-insurance and copays. Both Professional and facility
• Outbound calls to patients to educate on financial responsibilities.
• Verifies insurance eligibility prior to services being rendered.
• Attempts to collect and post patient’s responsibility prior to procedure.
• Maintains documentation of all patient interactions in compliance with organizational standards.
• Maintains collection logs by practice for reconciliation purposes
• Collaborates with Practices and RC Leadership
• Collaborates with Surgical Coordinators to support prior authorizations, review for add-on procedures
• Addressing all Revenue Cycle Correspondences, including but not limited to, email, faxes, written, and internal Practice Management communications
• Other duties as assigned.

• Previous experience in healthcare financial services and/or revenue cycle preferred.
• Strong knowledge of insurance identification and processes, billing procedures, and healthcare regulations.
• Strong communication skills, bilingual is a plus
• Strong problem‑solving skills.
• Proficiency with electronic health record systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
