Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate's degree in healthcare or business preferred.
• Bilingual capability (English/Spanish) desirable.
• Previous experience with Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial, and HMO payers eligibility systems required.
• Hospital insurance billing and collecting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verify and discuss patient insurance benefits and treatment costs.
• Provide financial counseling for all patients and collect payments.
• Initiate financial assistance applications and forms as needed.
• Coordinate with providers and clinical staff to secure prior authorizations and communicate pre-certifications.
• Identify alternative payment sources and arrange payment schedules.
• Identify returning patients with accounts in bad debt and collect point of service payments.
