  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience including at least 2 years in a Controller, Assistant Controller, or Accounting Manager
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

  • Strong technical accounting skills (leases, business combinations, revenue recognition)
  • Experience leading and developing accounting staff and coordinating audits

  • A detail-oriented, investigative mindset: you trace discrepancies back to the underlying transactions and follow through

Responsabilidades

  • Own monthly, quarterly, and year-end close across multiple legal entities, including intercompany eliminations and consolidated and by-clinic financial statements
  • Oversee the general ledger, accounts payable and vendor payments through Ramp, bank and balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, payroll entries, and fixed assets
  • Own vendor setup standards and 1099 compliance, including W-9 collection and year-end 1099 filings
  • Own revenue recognition and the reconciliation from our practice management system through the clearinghouse and card processors to bank deposits
  • Lead technical accounting and apply GAAP to non-routine transactions
  • Strengthen controls: reconciliation standards, journal entry review, supporting documentation, approval workflows, and segregation of duties
  • Prepare the lender compliance and covenant packages
  • Lead the annual audit and tax filings, working with our auditors and tax preparers
  • Work alongside our ERP implementers during the transition, leading the accounting workstream and assisting with chart of accounts design, data migration, testing, and a parallel close

Controller – Mid-Florida Endodontics

About the role

Mid-Florida Endodontics (MFE) is a growing, multi-location endodontic specialty group in Florida. We are hiring a hands-on Controller to run our accounting function, own the close and reporting, and work with our ERP implementers on the transition. You will work directly with the VP of Finance and our leadership team.

  • Location: Tampa Bay, FL (hybrid)
  • Type: Full-time, permanent
  • Compensation: $115,000 to $130,000 base salary, plus a discretionary annual bonus based on company and individual performance
What you will do
  • Own the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close across multiple legal entities, including intercompany eliminations and consolidated and by-clinic financial statements
  • Supervise, coach, and develop the staff accountant, and roll up your sleeves when the work calls for it
What you will bring

The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting leader, ideally a CPA with healthcare or multi-location experience, who is comfortable in the details and is also a strategic partner to senior leadership.

Required
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years as a Controller, Assistant Controller, or Accounting Manager
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Hands-on multi-entity consolidation experience: intercompany accounting, eliminations, and consolidated GAAP financial statements
  • Strong technical accounting skills (leases, business combinations, revenue recognition)
  • Experience leading and developing accounting staff and coordinating audits
  • Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills, and the ability to explain results clearly to executives and clinicians
  • A detail-oriented, investigative mindset: you trace discrepancies back to the underlying transactions and follow through
Preferred
  • Active CPA; Big Four or regional public accounting background
  • Experience in healthcare, dental, a DSO, or another multi-location services business
  • Experience in a private equity-backed or lender-covenant environment
  • ERP implementation or migration experience (Sage Intacct, NetSuite, or Microsoft Dynamics), ideally from QuickBooks Desktop
  • M&A and post-acquisition integration experience
  • Experience with Ramp or a similar spend platform, and comfort using AI tools to automate reconciliations and reporting
Why MFE
  • Direct access to the VP of Finance and our executive leadership team
  • The chance to build the close, controls, and chart of accounts in a new ERP rather than inherit them
  • A growing platform with room to advance as we expand
  • Competitive base salary and a discretionary annual bonus
  • Benefits: health, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off
