The Financial Controller will oversee all accounting and financial operations, ensuring compliance with GAAP, FAR, DFAR, and DCAA requirements. This individual will lead the accounting team, manage the month-end close and reporting process, and partner with leadership to strengthen financial systems, controls, and processes. The ideal candidate brings extensive Deltek Costpoint experience, a deep understanding of GovCon accounting, and the ability to balance hands‑on work with strategic financial leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations, including GL, AP, AR, payroll, and project accounting, ensuring compliance with company policies and government regulations.
• Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, preparing and reviewing financial statements, reconciliations, and management reports.
• Develop, maintain, and monitor indirect rate structures; ensure accurate cost allocations and reporting under FAR, DFAR, and CAS.
• Lead preparation of Incurred Cost Submissions, financial audits, and DCAA reviews.
• Provide financial forecasting, variance analysis, and strategic reporting to executive leadership.
• Drive efficiency and automation by optimizing Deltek Costpoint functionality and integrating related systems.
• Establish and maintain strong internal controls, accounting policies, and compliance frameworks.
• Collaborate with Project Control, Contracts, HR, and Operations to align financial performance with business goals.
• Mentor and develop accounting staff, promoting a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or MBA strongly preferred.
• 8–12+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 5 years in a government contracting environment.
• Expert‑level proficiency with Deltek Costpoint (required); experience with Time & Expense or Cognos a plus.
• In‑depth understanding of FAR, DFAR, CAS, DCAA, and GAAP.
• Proven experience managing indirect rates, incurred cost submissions, and audit readiness.
• Strong analytical and leadership skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across departments.
• High attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, and commitment to process improvement.
