Job summary

Yale New Haven Health is seeking a Financial Clearance Specialist to ensure payer readiness for scheduled services across transplant, surgical, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy. Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED; healthcare or business experience preferred.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred; CPC, LPN, Pharmacology license or other medical credential preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verifies patients' insurance and benefits for transplant, surgical, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy patients.
• Obtains prior authorizations from third-party payers per payer requirements; uses Epic applications for codes as needed.
• Maintains professional approach in communications with patients, coworkers, and payers to ensure a positive experience.
• Contacts patients to gather demographic and insurance information and updates EMR accordingly.
• Performs other duties as assigned to support revenue cycle operations.
