Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission is seeking a Financial Analyst III in Austin to oversee financial compliance reviews of external contractors under the Medicaid CHIP Services program. You will coordinate reporting, analyze financial operations, and contribute to policy development with limited supervision.

The role requires a strong accounting/finance background, excellent Excel skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects while communicating findings clearly.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university in accounting, business administration, finance, economics, or a related field is generally preferred.
• Relevant work experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.
• Experience in Texas State Government is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct financial reviews of managed care and dental maintenance organizations for compliance.
• Participate in assessment and review of Corrective Action Plans.
• Document and maintain records of all work performed; support policy analysis and development.
• Provide advanced financial analysis for internal and external projects and ad hoc studies.
• Perform other duties including analysis of potential laws and rules changes.
