Job summary

Health & Human Services Commission (HHSC) in Austin seeks a Data Analyst V to perform highly complex data analyses informing Medicaid policy and program decisions. The role requires consulting with internal and external customers to identify reporting needs and deliver validated datasets and reports.

Responsibilities include data quality assessment, writing programs in SQL/SAS, and presenting findings to leadership.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited 4-year college or university with major coursework in a social science, business, statistical or related field.
• Three or more years of experience with acquisition, collection, management, analyses and dissemination of health and human services-related data and/or other large datasets preferred.

Responsibilities

• Data Quality/Integrity: identify data quality issues and improve data analytics processes.
• Data Analysis: compile and manipulate data using SQL, SAS, or other languages to support complex analyses.
• Reporting: prepare standard and ad-hoc reports for internal and external audiences.
• Customer Focus and Communication: engage with stakeholders to gather requirements and explain findings clearly.
