Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is seeking a Data Analyst V in Austin to support Medicaid data reporting and policy decisions. The role involves advanced data analysis, creating documentation, and collaborating with program staff and leadership to ensure data accuracy and actionable insights.

The position is full-time in Austin, with telework eligibility and a focus on data quality, reporting, and stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited 4-year college or university with major coursework in a social science, business, statistical or related field.
• Three or more years of experience with acquisition, collection, management, analyses and dissemination of health and human services-related data and/or other large datasets preferred.
• Education and experience may be substituted for each other, up to four years.

Responsibilities

• Data Quality/Integrity: identify missing, erroneous, incongruent, or duplicate data and improve data quality.
• Data Analysis: develop effective methods to address data requests and monitor service trends.
• Reporting: prepare standard and ad-hoc reports for internal and external audiences.
• Customer Focus: engage with stakeholders to gather requirements and communicate results clearly.
• Special projects: contribute as SME and update standard operating procedures.
