Job summary

DuPage County in Wheaton, IL is seeking a Financial Analyst I to support budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting within the Finance Department. You will compile data, prepare analyses and assist management with financial recommendations.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting, and passing scores on Intermediate Excel and Basic Word tests. A pre-employment background check is also required.

Responsibilities

• Gathers, compiles, organizes and documents relevant financial information.
• Analyzes, consolidates and interprets financial data.
• Assists with the preparation of budgets, including trend analysis and forecasting.
• Assists in the preparation of detailed reports and presentations for review by all levels of management.
• Monitors actual results of financial data against plans, forecasts and budgets.
• Consolidates a wide range of operating and financial projections for the development of both short-term and long-term business plans.
• Reviews, evaluates and recommends revisions to departmental expenditures for conformance to budgeted amounts.
• Reviews resolutions and committee agenda for financial commitments.
• Reviews County-wide spending and advise Departments/Elected Officials on need for budget transfers; process County-wide budget transfers and appropriations.
• Verifies, prepares and reviews daily deposit sheets for various functions within County departments.
• Prepares departmental invoices
• Prepares various reports and studies as assigned
• Assists with Tort Liability reconciliation and other County insurance matters
• Assist with the maintenance of the budget system
