Job summary

Verisign is seeking a Sr Financial Analyst to join the FP&A team supporting the MPC business unit. Based in Reston, VA with a hybrid schedule, you will lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for marketing and product initiatives.

You will build models, analyze spend vs. plan, partner with business managers, and ensure SOX controls and accurate GL entries. Strong ERP and MS Office skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree with 5+ years' finance or accounting experience, or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong analytical skills; ability to gather and analyze financial and operational data.
  • Hands-on experience with financial modeling, accounting and audit principles/practices.
  • Ability to perform in highly matrixed environment.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  • Professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience with ERP systems, ideally Oracle Financials.
  • Advanced MS Office skills (PowerPoint, Excel, e.g. vlookups, pivot tables, graphs, advanced calculations, and formulas).
  • Experience with Smart View, Hyperion Planning and Tableau is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in preparation of zero based annual operating budgets and quarterly forecasts including direct marketing and other operating expenses and headcount.
  • Provides OPEX and direct marketing expense analysis and commentary of actual versus budget amounts on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
  • Analyzes financial performance, creates, and presents ad hoc financial reports.
  • Develops and maintains vendor level trending analysis.
  • Supports and/or assists with month end close activities including but not limited to preparing account analysis, preparing journal entries, validating general ledger balances, researching and approving purchase orders, ensuring proper coding of actual expenses versus planned expenditures, meeting SOX reporting requirements and performing analytical activities to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Serves as a business partner to Director, FP&A and the MPC business unit management team. This includes delivering timely and accurate information regarding financial performance, working with business unit managers to develop forecasts and helping them understand the financial implications of their decisions. Prioritizes and balances informational inquiries from corporate, executive and operational management.

The Sr Financial Analyst will join the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team. At Verisign, the FP&A Team provides actionable financial insights to business partners and executive management and drives strategic decisions across Verisign. This role supports the Director, FP&A and is responsible for the financial planning and analysis function for the Marketing, Product, Channel (MPC) business unit.

This position is based in our Reston, VA office and offers a hybrid work schedule.

The pay range for this role is $89,900-$121,700.

The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is noted above, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience. Verisign offers a discretionary bonus which is based on individual and company performance, and certain roles may be eligible for discretionary stock awards.
