Job summary

UAB Medicine in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Finance Analyst to perform statistical, cost and financial analysis from internal data sources and to prepare reports on health care costs, provider contracts, debt capacity and profitability.

Responsibilities include assisting with budget preparation and compliance reviews, providing decision-support to management, and leading special projects such as forecasting and exploring cost-saving opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required.
• Accountant licensure preferred, relevant to the work state's requirements.

Job Description

• Performs statistical, cost and financial analysis of data extracted from various internal sources. Prepares reports based on findings, including health care costs, provider contracts, debt capacity, revenue and profitablility.
• Assists with budget preparation and financial planning processes. Assists with budget review for compliance and identification of cost-saving opportunities.
• Serves as consultant to all levels of management to provide decision support for initiatives, policies and procedures.
• Performs special projects and duties as assigned, including research, forecasting and exploring viable alternatives.
