Job summary

UAB Medicine in Birmingham, AL is seeking a data quality professional to maintain, document and utilize specialty databases, and to collect, store, retrieve and communicate quality-related data.

You will collect data from medical records, clinical information systems, logs/records, interviews, national and state databases and governing organizations. Generate reports and scorecards for regulatory and administrative staff, and support performance improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Education requirements listed include a high school diploma equivalency or higher.
  • Experience requirements include 2+ years or 4 years of applicable experience depending on path.

Responsibilities

  • Collect data from medical records, clinical information systems, logs/records, interviews, national/state databases, and governing bodies.
  • Manage data requests and produce comprehensive quality management reports, utilization and outcome studies, and scorecards.
  • Conduct data retrieval, aggregation, analysis and reporting; support performance improvement and patient safety initiatives; audit activities for compliance.
  • Maintain quality databases, verify record accuracy, generate export files and alert staff to inconsistencies.

Job Description

Maintain, document and utilize specialty databases. Collect, store, retrieve and communicate quality-related data/information.

  • Collect data from various sources including medical records, clinical information systems, logs/records, interviews, national and state databases and governing organizations.
  • Manage requests for data and provide comprehensive quality management reports including utilization, outcome studies and scorecards. Generate summary reports of clinical measures and required regulatory/accreditation measure for administrative and clinical staff.
  • Conduct data retrieval, aggregation, analysis and reports. Provide team support for performance improvement, quality management and patient safety initiatives. May also participate in audits of medical records, departments and patient care areas for compliance with key regulatory and accreditation requirements.
  • Maintain various quality databases including loading import files, generating and working data status reports. Verify accuracy of records, produce export files and identify inconsistencies in system operations and alerts appropriate staff.
Qualifications

Education:

  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
