Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a senior reimbursement leader to direct claims processing, cost reporting, third-party settlements, and revenue optimization. You will partner with executive leadership to align reimbursement strategies with financial goals and regulatory requirements.

The role directs strategy and execution of reimbursement and cost reporting to ensure financial sustainability and compliance while advising on regulatory trends and financial implications for payers and providers.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a related field required.
  • Seven years of technical experience required.
  • Five years of leadership/management experience required.
  • Accountant licensure relevant to state preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides strategic leadership of reimbursement operations including claims processing, cost reporting, third-party settlements, and revenue optimization.
  • Partners with executive leadership to align reimbursement strategies with financial goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Directs strategy and execution of reimbursement and cost reporting to ensure financial sustainability and compliance.
  • Advises senior leadership on regulatory trends, reimbursement risks, and financial implications of payer and provider.
  • Oversees preparation, analysis, and reconciliation of cost reports, third-party settlements, and financial statements.
  • Evaluates financial impact of clinical services and reimbursement methodologies; identifies revenue opportunities and operational efficiencies.
  • Implements controls and monitors performance metrics to reduce risk and aid audits.
  • Leads due diligence and reimbursement modeling for acquisitions and partnerships.
  • Serves as liaison with external auditors, payers, and regulatory agencies.
  • Partners with clinical and operational leaders to align practices with clinical strategies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
