Position PurposeThe finance organization is seeking a highly motivated Financial Analyst to drive strategic financial planning and long-term decision support for the business. This role sits at the intersection of corporate strategy and finance — building the models, analyses, and materials that shape how leadership and the Board think about capital allocation, growth investments, and multi-year business direction.This is a high-visibility opportunity for someone who wants exposure to how a retail organization plans for the future: evaluating capital projects, sizing strategic initiatives, and translating complex financial data into clear recommendations for senior leadership and the Board of Directors. The role blends rigorous financial modeling with strategic judgment, cross-functional partnership, and executive-level communication.Essential Job FunctionsStrategy & Long-Term PlanningDevelop and maintain long-range financial models and scenario analyses that support the company's multi-year strategic plan and growth pillarsAnalyze market trends, competitive positioning, and industry benchmarks to inform strategic recommendationsPartner with Senior Management to evaluate strategic initiatives, new business opportunities, and growth investmentsCapital AllocationBuild financial models and business cases (ROI, proformas, NPV/IRR) to evaluate capital projects and investment opportunitiesSupport prioritization of capital spend across the business, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and return thresholdsAnalyze and challenge capital appropriation requests to ensure viability, accuracy, and completenessBoard and Executive Material PreparationPrepare polished, executive-ready presentations and materials for Board meetings and senior leadership reviewsDistill complex financial and operational data (Sales, Gross Margin, Inventory, Payroll) into clear executive summaries and key takeawaysAnticipate leadership and Board-level questions, ensuring materials are accurate, well-sourced, and defensibleCore FP&A SupportSupport the annual budget process, incorporating strategic initiatives, economic trends, and operational effectivenessPerform variance analysis, forecasting, and ad-hoc reporting to support business unit financial goalsDrive standardization and process improvement across planning and reporting practicesImplement and maintain Business Intelligence tools and dashboard reportingPreferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree in finance or business, and/or relevant experience in strategic financeExperience in FP&A, strategic finance, corporate development, investment banking, or consultingExperience with Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, and SQLAdvanced Excel and financial modeling skills, including experience building business cases and ROI/NPV analysesRetail industry knowledge a plusStrong executive communication skills — verbal, written, and presentation — with experience preparing materials for senior leadership or Board audiencesProven ability to manage cross-functional business partnerships in a fast-paced, complex environmentOrganized, self-directed, and comfortable operating with ambiguity and competing deadlinesPHYSICAL/SENSORY REQUIREMENTSSedentary Work – Ability to exert 10 - 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
