Job summary

The University of South Florida is seeking a Financial Aid Assistant to provide clerical and customer service support in the financial aid department, processing student loan information, verifying data, and guiding students and parents through the aid process.

The role reports to a Financial Aid Team Manager, handles confidential information, maintains data integrity, adjusts awards and loans as needed, and assists in training and supervising student assistants, while complying with privacy and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required with two years of administrative/office experience.
• Experience in handling confidential information and data entry is preferred.
• Ability to communicate clearly with students, parents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Maintain financial aid data integrity through input and correction of data.
• Field calls from parents, students, and others regarding the awarding process.
• Review confidential applicant files to adjust awards and evaluate loan eligibility.
• Make adjustments to student loans based on eligibility, verify and re-send data.
• Assist in training and supervising student assistants.
• Administer the financial aid database system including data entry of transactions.
• Consult with the team manager on unusual cases or system problems.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with privacy act and university policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
