Job summary

Unifi Aviation LLC is seeking a Financial Accounting Manager in Atlanta to lead month-end close, analyze P&L accounts, and coach a 5-6 person offshore team. You will drive process improvements across the accounting department and collaborate with Finance, Operations, IT, and other teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years of financial management experience, a BS in Finance/Accounting/Economics, and strong Excel/PowerPoint skills, with SQL and Power BI

Qualifications

• 4+ years of financial management/accounting experience.
• BS degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics (Masters is a plus).
• Exceptional high technical skills with a required proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong communicator.
• Hands-on experience with financial and statistical software.
• Expertise in MS Excel (advanced formulas).
• Familiarity with databases, SQL, and advanced modeling.
• Ability to present financial data using detailed reports and charts.
• Familiarity with PowerBi is a plus.
• Relevant certification (e.g. CFA/CPA) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage month-end close and journal postings for Revenue, Expenses, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
• Lead and coach a team; develop documented processes and controls.
• Collaborate with Finance to prepare monthly allocations for cross-utilized contracts.
• Coordinate with Operations, IT, Fixed Assets and AP to ensure accurate transaction coding.
• Analyze Profit & Loss accounts for anomalies and reclasses; perform monthly reviews of key expense accounts.
• Complete ad hoc projects to improve Financial Reporting integrity.
• Develop and coach offshore team of 5-6 people.

The Financial Accounting Manager is a key role in the accounting organization. This role is responsible for month end close, analyzing profit and loss accounts, leading and coaching a team, and improving processes across the accounting department.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/TASKS

• Month end Close responsibilities
  • Calculate and post and/or review journals related to:
  • Revenue
  • Recurring Expenses
  • Accounts Payable
  • Accounts Receivable
• Collaborate with Finance to prepare monthly allocations for cross-utilized contracts
• Collaborate with Operations, Finance, IT, Fixed Assets, and Accounts Payable teams to align and control transaction coding
• Analyze Profit & Loss Accounts for missing items and for unusual activity
  • Perform monthly reviews of key/volatile expense accounts that lead to timely reclassifications, accruals, and/or Pass-Through Billing
  • Complete Ad hoc projects to help enhance Financial Reporting integrity
• Develop and coach off-shore team of 5-6 people
• Develop documented and efficient processes and controls
