Qualifications

• 4–6 years of commercial finance experience at a law firm.
• Experience representing lenders, borrowers, private equity sponsors, and financial institutions in sophisticated financing transactions.
• Experience handling secured lending transactions, syndicated credit facilities, acquisition financings, and related matters.
• Experience drafting and negotiating credit agreements, security documents, intercreditor agreements, and related financing docs.
• Working knowledge of Article 9 of the UCC and secured lending concepts.
• Experience managing transaction workstreams and coordinating with clients and opposing counsel.

Compensation

$260,000 – $420,000+

A highly respected national law firm is seeking a Finance Transactions Associate Attorney to join its Chicago office.

This opportunity is ideal for an attorney interested in representing lenders, borrowers, private equity sponsors, and other financial institutions in sophisticated commercial finance transactions.

Ideal Background

• 4–6 years of commercial finance, banking, or secured lending experience gained at a law firm
• Experience representing lenders, borrowers, private equity sponsors, and/or financial institutions in sophisticated financing transactions
• Experience handling secured lending transactions, syndicated credit facilities, acquisition financings, and other commercial finance matters
• Experience drafting and negotiating credit agreements, security documents, intercreditor agreements, and related financing documentation
• Working knowledge of Article 9 of the Uniform Commercial Code and secured lending concepts
• Experience managing transaction workstreams and coordinating with clients, opposing counsel, and other advisors
• Strong drafting, negotiation, analytical, and communication skills
• Ability to work directly with clients and assume significant responsibility
• Excellent academic credentials
• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school required
• Illinois bar admission required or ability to become admitted
