Job summary

The Chicago office of a prestigious AmLaw 200 law firm seeks a Real Estate Finance Associate Attorney to handle sophisticated commercial real estate lending matters for lenders, borrowers, developers, private equity sponsors, and investors.

Ideal candidates have 3–6 years of experience in real estate finance at a top firm, excellent drafting and negotiation skills, and an ABA-approved JD; Illinois bar admission or eligibility to waive in is required.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of commercial real estate finance or finance transactional experience at a sophisticated law firm.
• Experience representing lenders, borrowers, developers, private equity sponsors, institutional investors, and financial institutions.
• Experience handling commercial mortgage loans, acquisition financings, construction loans, mezzanine financings, bridge loans, syndicated loans, and other secured lending transactions.
• Experience drafting and negotiating loan agreements, mortgage documents, security agreements, guaranties, intercreditor agreements, and related financing documentation.
• Experience reviewing title, survey, zoning, organizational documents, and real estate due diligence materials.
• Experience advising clients regarding real estate acquisitions, dispositions, development projects, and financing structures.
• Strong drafting, negotiation, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to independently manage sophisticated transactions while maintaining significant client interaction.
• Excellent academic credentials.
• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school required.
• Illinois bar admission required or ability to become admitted.
