Job summary

Alderwood Water & Wastewater District is seeking a Finance Technician to join the Administration, Technology & Finance Department. You will handle customer accounts, process payments, manage escrow inquiries, and support water/wastewater billing with accuracy and discretion.

This role involves handling calls in person at the front counter, researching accounts, setting up new accounts, refunds, collections, and posting daily payments. Strong numerical skills and clear communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in customer service and telephone etiquette, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Must handle confidential information with discretion and maintain professional communication.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with accounts over the phone and in person at the front counter.
• Research customer accounts and payments, process payments, and manage escrow inquiries and final bills.
• Process and track permits and applications related to side sewers, meters and water use; create service orders.
• Set up new accounts, handle refunds, and manage collections; post daily payments and balance cash drawer.
• Verify meter readings and respond to service requests; communicate clearly in writing and orally.
