Job summary

Ramp is seeking a Finance Storytelling Lead who will sit at the intersection of finance and communications. You will pull insights from finance teams, craft compelling narratives, and shape how Ramp’s AI-powered finance impact is told to customers and the market.

You’ll spend half the time embedded with Ramp Finance to learn operations and the other half shaping stories for CFOs and finance leaders. This true Super IC role requires hands-on writing, strategic thinking, and in-person

Qualifications

• You are an exceptional writer who can simplify complex financial or operational ideas.
• You understand finance and have worked with CFOs, FP&A, or treasury.
• You are data literate and can use AI to explore questions with trusted data.
• You can write in someone else’s voice, preserving a leader’s point of view.
• You can turn rough notes into strong, publishable work.
• You are AI-native but use judgement and avoid overreliance on LLMs.
• You are based in New York City and want to work with the team in person.

Responsibilities

• Embed with Ramp Finance to observe how the team operates and identify shareable insights.
• Spend significant time writing first-person posts, POVs, and customer stories.
• Develop original finance insights with data, surveys, and practitioner-led analysis.
• Build a repeatable finance-storytelling system from capture to publication.
• Collaborate with data and economics teams to identify trends for storytelling.
• Partner with Marketing, Sales, and Communications to elevate customer stories.
• Own the distribution plan for each piece, targeting key audiences and channels.
• Set clear criteria for what earns a finance leader’s attention.
