Job summary

Maravai LifeSciences seeks a Manager, Financial Operations to lead day-to-day payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable activities. You will supervise team members, coordinate with service providers, and ensure SOX-compliant processes and strong internal controls.

You will partner with Commercial, Operations, HR, Accounting, Tax, Treasury, and other stakeholders to resolve issues, maintain records, and support month-end close. 8+ years in accounting ops preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible experience in accounting operations.
• Experience supervising or leading transaction-processing teams and coordinating payroll, AP, and AR deadlines.
• Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll regulations and payroll tax requirements, AP/AR controls, reconciliations, and basic accounting principles.
• Experience with payroll and financial systems, invoice/workflows, receivables, reporting tools, and discrepancy resolution.
• Familiarity with SOX internal controls, approval procedures, audit support, and month-end close processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and discretion with confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Manages day-to-day payroll, AP, and AR operations for a multi-state workforce.
• Supervises payroll, AP, and AR personnel; assigns tasks and ensures deadlines and service standards.
• Oversees AP processing: invoice review, coding, approvals, vendor inquiries, payments, reconciliations.
• Oversees AR activities: customer setup, invoicing, cash application, aging, collections, reconciliations.
• Ensures regulatory compliance and SOX controls; maintains audit-ready documentation.
• Resolves escalated issues with internal teams and external providers; drives process improvements.
• Maintains SOPs and KPIs; pursues automation to sustain quality and controls.
