Job summary

The Utility Reform Network (TURN) in California is seeking an Accounting and Operations Coordinator to support the Finance Department. This role handles accounts payable/receivable, financial recordkeeping, donor management data entry, and budget reporting to keep the nonprofit's operations efficient.

Working in a hybrid office in Oakland, you will collaborate across departments, manage vendor relationships, assist with month-end close, and help prepare board materials and donor communications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance, or related field required.
• Minimum of three years accounting, bookkeeping, finance or related administrative experience.
• Experience processing accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
• Strong data entry and financial recordkeeping accuracy.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Outlook, Word).
• Nonprofit experience and donor management exposure preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
• Prepare and maintain financial records, deposits, and data entry in accounting systems.
• Assist with month-end close activities, reporting, reconciliations, and budget reporting.
• Process donations and maintain related records and acknowledgments.
• Provide admin support to Finance and Administration; manage records and filings.
• Coordinate vendor relationships and assist with facility and office operations.
• Prepare Board materials and donor communications; support cross‑department projects.
